Top 10 List: Saving Money During the Holidays

10. Price match - and I hear Wal*Mart is always willing to price match items (just read that they will actually give the remaining balance on a gift card instead).
9. Shop early and online as much as possible. Online retailers often offer exclusive deals and free shipping.
8. Shop the prices not the sales.
7. Make service coupons for gifts, make your own gifts, or give a small collection of your favorite things (inexpensive but things you love and use every day).
6. Buy last years model.
5. Make an agreement with others to not exchange or set a price limit on your gift exchange.
4. Use cash not cards.
3. Make your list and stick to it! When kids are making their "wish list" be sure to set boundaries and give them realistic choices.
2. Know your budget.
1. Look for meaning over glitz and remember the reason for the season!
